MacKayser has a good idea and concept. So What?

You have read (hopefully) or ignored (probably) my previous 4 posts and ultimately thought superb concepts, to what a load of rubbish, to somewhere in between.

But the real question your are thinking is: So What?

We challenge perception

Imagine 8 teachers in a school were the shown the symbol:

b

One Maths teacher says it the number 6 the other the number 9

One English teacher says it is a letter 'b' the other the letter 'q'

One Physics teacher says it is the symbol for bottom quark 'b' the other says it is the symbol for electric charge 'q'

One Music teacher say it is the flat symbol (b) and the other says it is minim (q)

Who is correct?

No one? Everyone?

The real issues is there is the lack context.

The lack of context is a real enterprise issue and a silo way of working re-enforces this problem.

By looking at your activity as a system and how information flows within your system MacKayser can give context to yous situation and start to have you functions work collaboratively rather than in isolation (silos)

We look for maximum value

This is a problem which has already been solved in physical production lines but very few organisations apply it in practice within the services world.

Whatever the system the speed is determined by the throughput of the slowest part.

You will always have a slowest part (bottleneck)

Within services it is easier to change the bottleneck activity and conditions. Changes here provide maximum gain.

This is linked to silo problems again as a silo may improve their performance for the sake of example doubling their speed.

Unfortunately this has no impact on the system as bottleneck still operating at the same original speed.

To make matters worse you will loading up some other areas backlog.

MacKayser looks for MAXIMUM VALUE not marginal gain in a silo.

We want a risk sharing engagement model

MacKayser aims to partner with organizations to define and provide value for you.

Our ideal engagement model would be be to share in value created.

This would come from base-lining the maximum value, if no value was delivered then you would not need to pay.

No value to you = no payment to us.

The MacKayser World View

Change happens constantly, we need to learn to live with it not react to it.

If we look at the forces of change today we can see the following:

  • REGULATORY: GDPR, 21 CFR-Part 11......

  • OPPORTUNITIES: IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0...

  • BUSINESS: M&A, New Markets, New Products/Services, .....

  • PEOPLE: Personalisation, Data Use...

  • INTERNAL: Updates & Upgrades, Continual Improvement, ....

The forces of change won't stop and the pace of change will continue to accelerate.

Legacy/traditional approach are no longer suitable.

  • Legacy program/project operating models to manage this continual change are obsolete.

  • Technology push of technology (the "silver bullet) is a waste of time, people and money.

  • If you split IT from business you don't have full understanding of dependencies and costs; you are navigating these forces of change with a blindfold on

  • Being the cheapest volume supplier is not enough anymore, you need to add value to your customer

However, the adoption and execution of continual change is a challenging and complex proposition.

Which brings us to MacKayser's USP:

MacKayser makes the complex simple

I have always been fond of the following quotes:

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction" - E.F. Schumacher (also attributed to A. Einstein)

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"

Leonardo Di Vinci

Have the courage and touch of genius to contact us and start your journey of living with continual change.
